A Family Camp for Households Navigating Life with Skeletal Dysplasia

Camp Ellellbee isn’t just a weekend away, it’s a weekend that brings us home. Designed for individuals living with skeletal dysplasia and their families, this free, all inclusive program is more than just a getaway, it’s a chance to connect, recharge, and be part of a growing, resilient community.

Created by the Little Legs Big Heart Foundation, presented by GutMonkey, and sponsored by BioMarin, Camp Ellellbee exists to support families navigating life with skeletal dysplasia…together.

What You Can Expect

Each camp takes place at a peaceful, family-friendly outdoor location (Please see the map and list of general locations below). We keep things relaxed, playful, and supportive by creating space for both adventure and downtime.

Your weekend will include:

  • Facilitated activities/breakout sessions

  • Breakout sessions, family games, and time to explore outside

  • Simple, cozy cabins with bunk beds

  • All meals provided (dietary needs welcome)

  • Shared stories, laughter, and real connection

Who Can Join

Camp Ellellbee is for households where at least one immediate family member lives with any form of skeletal dysplasia.

That includes:

  • Children and their parent(s) or legal guardian(s)

  • Primary caregivers (like grandparents) who live in the same household

Extended family members who don’t live in the same home aren’t eligible unless special circumstances apply. If you’re unsure, reach out – we’re happy to talk it through.

Locations across the U.S, you choose the one most convenient to you.

  • Weekend Format

    Friday afternoon to Sunday midday.

  • Free To Attend

Here’s what you need to know:

Take a look at the list of locations below and choose the one that works best for you & your family.

Please note: Some camps are currently open for sign-ups, while others are still in the opt-in stage. If you select a camp that’s not yet accepting forms, we’ll notify you by email as soon as that location opens.

Before you begin, please have the following details ready:

“We are so thankful and blessed to have Kristen and the Little Legs Big Heart community in our lives. The inspiration and incredible impact that she has on our journey and so many others is so admirable. We love that Kristen keeps us connected with other families that share similar journeys. Thank you for staying involved and connected through communication and planned activities.”

“Evie was born with pseudoachondroplasia in 2009 and has been on an incredible, life-changing journey since then with the mentorship and support of Little Legs Big Heart and the unicorn in our lives—Kristen. The Foundation is a bright light of hope in our lives. One that is inclusive and on a constant mission of education and advocacy for all people with a skeletal dysplasia will bring great change and support to our life.”

“Last year I faced a serious scare with my back, and Kristen from the Little Legs Big Heart Foundation immediately stepped in by arranging travel and medical care with a world-renowned skeletal dysplasia team. Thankfully my back was fine, but doctors recommended leg surgery to correct bowing, which Kristen and the Foundation supported every step of the way by scheduling appointments, providing medical funding, and offering constant reassurance. Six months later I underwent surgery in Florida, and Kristen stayed in close contact, calming my anxieties and guiding me through recovery. Now, two months post-surgery, I feel incredibly happy and grateful, and none of this would have been possible without Kristen and the Little Legs Big Heart Foundation.”

Camp Ellellbee was created with so much love and intention for families like yours. We know that living with skeletal dysplasia can feel isolating at times, and we also know how powerful it is to be in a space where you don’t have to explain yourself.

This is a weekend to breathe, to laugh, to connect, and to just be together.

We’re building something meaningful here, and we’d be honored for you to be part of it.
Can’t wait to welcome you to camp!

We Hope to See You There!
